Rating: 1 Star Rating: Poor What an experience! We had a reservation Saturday at 7:45 PM for 4. We sat on the sidewalk. Server came and took our orders at 8:15 PM. At 9:00 PM we hadn't even been served our appetizers! The waiter kept coming and asked if we had been served -- NO! We left at 9:15 PM with still NO SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The other couples on the sidewalk were also without food - everyone complaining. Don't imagine that this place will be around long!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rating: 1 Star Rating: Poor I'm only posting this so that perhaps the restaurant can adjust its food preparation. It's a long time since I had to send food back, but when you pay $80 for dinner, you expect flavor and not just salt. I had to send the cream of broccoli soup back as it was cold and so salty, that it was inedible. The pasta dish was on the menu as "wheat penne" but came out as regular penne, with no explanation for the change. The dish had peas and asparagus and again had no flavor, but just overwhelmed with salt. The only redeeming feature was the friendly service. Salt is not a substitute for flavor and I hope they can adjust the way they make the food.

Rating: 1 Star Rating: Poor AVOID AVOID AVOID!! Anyone giving rave reviews are apparently friends or family of this dump. Let’s start with the “cold as ice bordering on rude” hostess. 4 of us went for dinner and no one had anything good to say from start to end. Salad apps came immediately followed by our dinner. Barely had a fork full of salad and the main course arrived. Meals were taken away and returned about 15 minutes later. Iced cold and burnt food sat before us. Chicken was barely recognizable it was so burnt. Mushroom pasta was disgusting. Bronzino wasn’t filleted. Spoke to manager who was unapologetic and as obnoxious as hostess. Tables all around us all complaining about something. We all laughed together and commiserated. Sad but true! Again, don’t believe the good reviews on here. Will be shocked if this place lasts thru the summer.

Rating: 3 Star Rating: Average Aroma advertises as a somewhat upscale Italian joint in Ventnor City. My company at the dinner and I had the octopus appetizer along with the prosciutto, burrata, and Roma tomato appetizer. We also each had a pasta dish (I went with the short rib with cream sauce and she the seafood fettuccini). The chefs at Aroma clearly have an idea as to what dishes they want to create, the plating is deliberate and pleasant, but the ingredients are lacking. For a self-described upscale Italian place, there are some areas that cannot be overlooked or skimped. However, the olive oil was tasteless, the pasta was homemade but over-cooked, both the fettuccini and my dish were totally forgettable in terms of having a standout quality, and, finally, the tomatoes were mealy and underripe. Bread and desserts were exceptional. The restaurant can get a little loud and cramped indoors at peak hours, but, becomes a very lovely space once the large parties have cleared out. Certainly worth a try if you’re in Ventnor City and don’t want to venture to Atlantic City. I’m hoping I caught them on an off night.
