In 1995, The Mitchells Family of Stores acquired Richards of Greenwich from beloved founder Eddie Schachter and his visionary daughter, Susan Schachter. Together, they had created a unique men’s specialty retailer, amongst the first to bring luxury European designers and fine men’s fashion to Connecticut. Richards had been long-admired by the Mitchells, as the two stores shared a similar retail philosophy and environment.
